Goodbye January 2012

This graphic shows that January 2012 had the third most tornadoes on record dating back to 1955.  The warm weather we have been experiencing around the region was the perfect ingredient for the tornadic activity this month.

Weekend Forecast for Starkville, MS

Today, we woke up to colder temperatures. We are currently at 48 degrees, but will drop to the low forties tonight. We will not see much sunshine today, as it will stay mostly cloudy into the night. Tomorrow will be interesting though. We will have a front move into our area that will make those temps rise. We will see temps reach a high of around 70 degrees. We do have a chance of severe thunderstorms Sunday evening that will last into Sunday night.  These could bring the possibility of hail and strong winds. It looks like this will be a dreary weekend, but by Monday our sunshine will be back!!
